REFLECTION:
This assignment provided a comprehensive understanding of urban design principles and their application in creating responsive architecture. Through the Townscape Appraisal, I gained insights into the character and identity of the Merdeka 118 Precinct, identifying its strengths, weaknesses, and potential for improvement. The Urban Intervention phase challenged me to think critically about activating public spaces and fostering community engagement while respecting the area's cultural and historical context.
Designing the Learning Centre pushed me to balance functionality and aesthetics, ensuring the proposal aligns with urban street dynamics and user needs. The project emphasized the importance of sustainability, inclusivity, and context-sensitive design, highlighting the role of architecture as a catalyst for social and spatial cohesion.
